Margaret C. Widger Reddick (far right) 1940's
Seeing the old photos, pictures of farms and farm families... made me wish I'd spent more time with Mom learning all about my family...what it was really like.
Often when writing this blog I think I am trying to leave a bit of information about who I am for my two sons who believe I will live forever. Someday they may have the same wish to know about the past.
I will spend the next few cold winter months, when not doing art and shoveling snow, unmuddling our family albums, scanning them for family, and reading the geneology that my Dad put together before he passed away.

Oh yes, it is so important. Your sons might not feel that way right now - but some day they will. How I wish I had paid more attention to my grandmother when I was a young girl - she would talk and talk about her family and her life when she was a young girl. But I was a kid and just let it go in one ear and out the other. Today, as the older generation is passing away - all those memories are dying with them. Write down everything you remember.
Thank you Mary for telling your story in relation to this...your kind words are much appreciated...
Here's wishing you all the best in the New Year.
